Welcome to the Tuition and Fees section for the upcoming academic year. At The Marshall School, we believe in transparency when it comes to our tuition structure, so families can plan their investment in their child's education accordingly.
*Tuition ranges based on the grade level. There is a base tuition for all students. There is an additional cost depending on the amount of 1-1 cognitive remediation/tutoring that the student receives weekly.
Lower School (K-6) $14,300
Upper School (7-12) $14,800
Financial Aid
****2023-2024 FUNDS HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED****
We base reduced rates on each family’s specific financial situation. Any family in need of assistance may apply.
Factors like income, family circumstances, and the cost of living in the Fredericksburg region, are reviewed by a third party: FACTS Grant & Aid. Each request is then reviewed by the TMS Financial Aid Committee, which makes the final award.
A processing fee of $35 will be required to submit your application.
If you itemize your tax deductions, you may be able to include in medical expenses the cost of attending The Marshall School, as a Special Education tuition expense. For more information, see IRS Publication 502 Medical and Dental Expenses for use in preparing returns, and/or check with your tax professional.
The Marshall School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or ethnic origin.

Yes, we do offer tuition assistance. We understand that investing in education can be a financial commitment, and we strive to ensure that our school remains accessible to a diverse range of families. Our tuition assistance program takes into consideration various factors, such as family income, size, and regional living costs. To facilitate a fair evaluation, we collaborate with FACTS Grant & Aid. The TMS Financial Aid Committee then reviews applications and determines awards. We're dedicated to providing opportunities for all students to thrive at The Marshall School.
Yes! The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 contains a provision that allows the use of Section 529 accounts to pay for private K-12 education up to $10,000 per year, per child starting in 2018. These accounts can be established by parents, grandparents, or family friends and contributions can receive state tax advantages. The investments grow tax free and withdrawals are not taxed on capital gains, to the extent they are used to fund qualified educational expenses. There is additional information on this new tax law change on the Saving for College website.
